A gravity-feed airbrush mounts its paint cup on top of the body, letting gravity deliver paint to the nozzle. Because no suction is needed, it atomizes well at lower pressure — better for fine detail, thin paints, and low-PSI apartment setups.
The trade-offs are small: the cup limits capacity, and you cannot set the brush down flat with paint loaded. For miniatures and kits, gravity feed is the default recommendation.
