A wet palette keeps acrylic paint workable for hours instead of minutes: a soaked sponge under a parchment membrane feeds moisture up into the paint exactly as fast as it evaporates. Mixed colors survive a whole session — with the lid on, often days.
It matters most for brush painters doing layering and glazing, where a color mixed once needs to stay consistent across twenty applications. It costs almost nothing to try — a shallow container, a sponge, and parchment paper is the DIY version.
